This story is a tribute to Verna Benson and was inspired by her story “Old Before His Time”, which can be found at the Fictionmania link on top of the story. Any subsequent tributes I write for Verna Benson will be listed at Sapphires under the name Velma Benson. I am not Verna, but wherever she is, I wish her well and want to thank her for her stories.
