Chapter Nine
The
bars weren't too crowded, but Sharon and Patti would only get a drink or two
at each before they'd move on, until they came to the "Olde Coat
Pub", their favorite watering hole. Taking a table there, they ordered
their drinks and sat back to relax.
"How
do you like being a girl, Patti?" Sharon asked.
"It's
slightly heady, the way everybody looks at you different. I couldn't quite
believe it when those two guys got up to give us their table in the last
place."
"It'll
happen more often, now that you look the way you do!"
"I
hope so, with these heels forcing me to take these mincing little
steps........" Patti moaned.
Just as he was saying that, Patti happened to look up, and noticed two of his
friends from school enter the Pub.
"OH
SHIT!" he squealed, turning his head away.
"What's
the matter?"
"Those
two guys that just walked in, they are Bob and Joe from school, we were fairly
good friends."
"I'm
sure that they'd like you even more now!" she joked, then seeing the
stricken look on his face, added, "...just kidding."
"What
if they recognize me? They're looking this way."
"At
us, unless I miss my guess," she said. "You probably look familiar to
them, but they don't know from where. Just act like a girl, and it should all
be fine." The tension built for another ten minutes, all the while they
kept looking at the girls!
"We've
got to leave!" Patti pleaded.
"We
can't go without passing them. Wait a minute, I've got an idea!" Whereupon
Sharon stood up and calmly walked into the
lobby. Seconds later, she reappeared, carrying something in her hands.
"Here
you are, light up!" she said, as she handed Patti a pack of cigarettes
and a book of matches.
"You
know I don't smoke!"
"That's
right! All of your friends know that Pat doesn't smoke, never has. So if Patti
smokes, nobody will make the connection. If they still see any resemblance,
just say that your Pat's cousin."
Opening
the pack, Patti noticed that they were Virginia Slims 100's.
"Why
this particular brand?" he asked her.
"One,
they're for women, and two, their motto fits you."
"Their
motto?"
"Yeah...'You've
come a long way baby!', and nobody's come longer than you!" she giggled.
"Not
funny!" Patti whispered as he fumbled with the cigarettes.
"Here,
watch me," Sharon said. Deftly holding the cigarette
with the first two fingers of her right hand, she placed it near the tip. With
her palm in, she brought it to her lips, and holding it there, lit it. Inhaling
deeply, she slowly exhaled with a sigh.
"When
did you smoke?" he questioned her.
"Since
well before I met you, but I don't around you, because you object to it so
much. Now, you do it. But, don't inhale yet, just hold the smoke in your mouth
for a second. You can learn to inhale later." As they sat and smoked, she
watched and corrected him.
"...that's
right, but hold your fingers straighter ... purse your lips more when you
inhale...not too bad. Rest your elbow on the table with the cigarette held
out... soon you'll be smoking like an old timer. You know, a lot of men think
women who smoke are extra sexy. I guess it's the wrapping of the lips around
the cigarette that makes them think of oral sex."
The
imprint of his lipstick on the cigarette was turning Patti on a little bit,
but the super tight panty girdle would make sure that nothing showed, even
while it made any erection quite painful.
"Don't
let it burn too far down; not only is that the worst part for you, but puffing
on a short butt is not ladylike." By the second one, Patti was feeling
more relaxed about smoking, and was thinking that the ruse might have worked!
He should have known! Just then, Joe and Bob decided to pick up their drinks
and come over to their table.
"Hi
Girls! Can we join you?" Before either Sharon or Patti could open their
mouths, they pulled up chairs and sat down.
"This
might sound like a come-on, but we're sure that we know you from somewhere,
are you from around here?" As Patti opened his mouth to answer, Sharon did it for him.
"I
don't know if that's possible, she just moved in with her relatives, the Fay's."
"You're
sure," looking at Patti again, "you don't go to college here in
town?"
"No..."
Patti answered, softening his voice to sound more girl-like, "but my
cousin does."
"What's
his name?" asked Joe.
"Patrick
Fay"
"Oh!
So that's it. Pat's a real good friend of ours, we must have noticed the
family resemblance," exclaimed Bob. Glancing over at Sharon, Patti saw her grinning.
"But
Pat never looked as sexy as you do....ah....what's your name?"
"Patricia,
Patti for short."
"Boy,
what a weird coincidence. We'll just call you "Trish" instead, okay?
We don't want to confuse you with Pat!"
"Heavens,
no!" added Sharon, and all three laughed. Patti reached for another
cigarette, and Bob leaned over to light it for him. For some reason, this sent
a tingle down his spine, as he noticed that he couldn't help but show some
breast as he leaned over. No wonder men like to light cigarettes for women.
The talk was soft and friendly, but Sharon and Patti were still nervous. Slowly, the conversation came around to
what they were doing next Friday night. Without thinking, Patti answered that they
weren't doing that much. The next thing he knew, Sharon and Patti had a double
date with Bob and Joe for dinner and dancing. Telling them that they had to
go, but would meet them there at 5:30pm on Friday, they left.
"Oh
Boy! How can we get out of that?" Patti sighed.
"I
don't know...do you want to?"
"Of
course! They're boys!"
"I
noticed, kinda cute, though..."
"But
I don't want to go out with a guy, I'm a guy!"
"Really?
Not to them... I think it would do us both good. We should both start seeing
other guys."
"But
I only want you!"
"The
way you look now, I'd have to be a lesbian to get a sexual charge with you.
Don't get me wrong, we can still be best of friends, GIRLFRIENDS. I'm not gay,
and Joe seemed so...so masculine. Do you know what I mean?"
"No,
I don't!"
"Well,
although the last time we had sex it was great, I want to be seen with a GUY
every once in a while, not some sexy chick. You look so soft and feminine,
nobody notices me! Well, Joe noticed me, and to tell you the truth, I'm
looking forward to our date. By the way, if you think of backing out, I'll do
something that YOU will regret."
"Are
you telling me that you're not my girl anymore?"
"How
can I be your girl, PATTI? You're a girl now, too. When you look like a guy
again, then I'll be your girl again. Right now, we're best GIRL friends. We
talk, we go shopping, and double date together. Don't worry, I'll be with you
for your first date, but from then on, you're on your own." Pointing to
the mirror behind the bar, she added, "After all, you're a big girl
now!"
Looking
at the mirror, Patti saw two attractive girls sitting at a table, talking,
smoking, and from the way they were dressed, looking for guys. While looking
in the mirror, he didn't notice Rick come in, but true to his luck of the
evening, he saw Patti. Coming straight over, Patti finally saw him when his
image appeared in the mirror. Looking up startled, Rick slid into the chair
that Bob had just vacated.
"Hi
Sharon, Hi dear, I see you took my advice about making the most of your
situation. You look even better that you did last night. Sharon, did you know that this girl is
one hell of a kisser? I've been remembering that kiss all day. I guess you
have too, or you wouldn't be dressed the way you are."
"Good
Kisser, Ha!" Sharon stood up and took her purse.
"I guess you don't need my help girlie, from now on, you can handle it on
your own!" and she stormed out.
"Why
did you have to do that?" Patti pleaded, as he started to rise to follow
her.
"SIT
DOWN!" he commanded, in a tone that brooked no argument. "I did that
for two reasons. One, to get rid of her, and two, to let you know how our
relationship is going to be."
"Our
relationship?" Patti asked dumbly.
"Yes,
now that you're your real self, you'll need a man. While I'm around, I'll need
a woman. From this moment on, you're that woman! Any arguments out of you will
lead to your exposure, and not just to your local school friends. Dressing as
a woman is illegal in this state, you know! We're going out tomorrow night.
I'll pick you up at your house; wear a dress, and bring your cigarettes."
Reaching over, he held Patti's face in his hands, bringing their faces
together. "Give me a kiss good-bye, Sweetheart." When Patti tried to
pull away, his thumbs pressed into his neck, making the room spin. "Come
on Lover! Kiss your man like the good little girl that you are!"
Patti
nodded to relieve the pressure on his windpipe. To preserve his life, he
leaned forward, and tried to give Rick a soft, submissive kiss on the lips,
but he thrust his tongue into Patti's mouth, and they ended up kissing a lot
longer than he had planned.
"That's
more like it! See you tomorrow!" Rick left suddenly, leaving Patti hurt,
confused, and somehow.... wanting?
That
night seemed to have been a turning point in Patti's life. He was on an express
train to womanhood, and there was no getting off. More than his body had
undergone a transformation, his emotions were different than they were two
weeks ago. A part of Patti wanted Rick, maybe always had. Now he was having it
all forced upon him. The changes in his body, were they over yet? What caused
them, any way? The doctors didn't seem to know. His relationships were
changing, from lover to friend with Sharon, and friend to lover with Rick. And what about his "date"
with Bob? Graduation would be next week, and he guessed they'd graduate Patti,
and not Patrick. OH NO! He just then remembered that there is a formal dance
afterwards. If that wasn't enough, his mom was giving rather broad hints about
him having to get a job. Patti thought his degree in business would help, but he'd
have to do it as Patti. He wasn't sure what the future held for himself
anymore, but he was willing to bet it would be as Patti in skirts.
Picking
up her cigarettes and purse, Patti Fay went home to meet her future.
By
the time Patti made it home, his feet ached, and all he wanted to do was to
take a quick shower and go to bed. The trip home was an adventure all by
itself. The first problem was that he had already spent most of his money on
drinks for himself and Sharon. This meant that a taxi was out of the question.
While Pat felt lucky that the busses ran all night long, they had limited
service after 10pm. This meant that, first he had to
walk from the bar where he and Sharon had their fight, and where he and Rick
had their "discussion". Three terrible blocks of wolf whistles, cat
calls, and two cars pulling over to ask if "she" wanted to
"party". Once on the bus, it quieted down some, but the driver never
kept his eyes off Patti. At first, he thought the driver recognized him, but
as he was leaving, the driver reached out and patted him on his ass.
"Sure you want to leave, Honey? We could have a good time together if you
want to make some extra money!"
Damn,
they all though he was a common streetwalker. All told, it took him over an
hour to finally return. Sitting on his back porch, Patti smoked his last
cigarette, and contemplated what to tell his Mom. Stubbing it out, he slipped
his heels off, and tiptoed into his room.
